| Wonsuk Chin, Director
|
|
| Born in Seoul, Korea, Wonsuk Chin moved to the United States in 1989 to study film at the School
of Visual Arts in New York. Instead of going back to Korea where a mandatory Korean military service was awaiting him,
he decided to stay in the country and pursue a film career. As a result, he was homeless for one month, an illegal
alien for two years, and an aspiring filmmaker for many years. Chin's first script, Too Tired to Die was made a
feature starring Mira Sorvino, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Ben Gazzara, and Gretchen Mol. Since its debut at the 1998 Sundance
Film Festival, the film has been released in over 25 countries. His next project called The
Foreigners follows the escapades of two expat Americans in Pusan Korea who one fateful
night decide to rob a nightclub run by the Japanese yakuza. |
